SIL2 Study of an Offloading Buoy

  • Start of the Project: July 2010
  • End of the Project: December 2010

Total is currently building a new oil platform in Nigeria. Within the framework of this, the oil company is subcontracting construction of an offloading buoy, a type of buoy enabling tankers to dock to supply crude oil.

Our Actions

Within the scope of this project, Clearsy initially carried out a SIL2 safety study on the safety functions for the instrumentation section (various sensors and electric feed devices).

Afterwards, Clearsy carried out the Rockwell automaton logic present on the buoy and on the platform (logical in SIL2), resulting in the creation of supervision interfaces according to the rules and standards demanded by Total (Standard Function).
